Project
chosen to be part of Brighton festival 2005 ( the theme that year was Alice
in Wonderland).
Through the looking glass was designed to make the audience become the installation
and interact with the people who they would otherwise walk past and ignore in
the street. A 2m square frame had 14 gilded plaster mirror frame suspended around
the outside at differing heights and 9 mirrors huge on the inside. Each frame
lined up with a mirror, which in turn up lined up with another frame, resulting
in you seeing someone else’s reflection back instead of your own. The
piece toured round three differing locations over 3 weekends, the busy north
lanes, Churchill square shopping centre and The Royal Pavilion Gardens.
